Vegan Pizza

the easiest (and tastiest) recipe to make pizza…and it’s vegan too!

Ciao guys! Pizza is probably my favourite food ever, and I always thought making pizza was such a difficult challenge. How wrong I was!

Yes, there are different type of crust: deep, thin, filled with cheese, jalapeno (?). Mine is a classic and simple home made pizza, don’t need to throw your dough away into the ceiling like a professional pizza maker (or pizzaiolo).

The more we leave the dough to rest, the more it becomes light and more easy to digest, but we are hungry so we make thing fast!

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 400 g 00 type Flour (or strong Flour)
  • 5 g dried yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 300 ml lukewarm water

for the topping

  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 300 g vegan cheese shredded
  • 7 grilled artichokes
  • 1 teaspoon dried origano
  • 2 vegan sausages

Instructions

  • Mix the dry yeast into the water, then sieve the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle, creating a sort of volcano.
  • Slowly pour the water into the well and start mixing it all together, bringing the flour in from the sides and keep mixing. Then add the salt and the olive oil and keep mixing! When it starts to become more like a dough, pour the dough into a clean surface (sprinkle a bit of flour to the surface so the dough is easier to work with) and keep kneading the flour with your hand until it becomes a smooth dough.
  • Place the dough into the bowl, cover it and place the bowl into a warm room for about an hour to let the yeast do the magic!
  • After an hour, take the dough out and place it into a baking tray that has been oiled and, with your hands, stretch the dough evenly to the entire tray.
  • Place the tomatoes on top of the pizza and let it rest for about 15 minutes, then start to preheat the oven to the max temperature (the oven has to be very hot). After the 15 minutes, place the pizza into the oven for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and place the rest of the toppings (cheese, artichokes, vegan sausages etc) and place the pizza gain into the oven for about 10-15 or until you see the cheese melting!
